Middle Tennessee Electric

MTE EV Ready Bill Credit

Open (listed on MTE's site)As of October 2026

Residential MTE members can get a $50 bill credit toward installing wiring that supports Level 2 charging.

  • The credit covers wiring for a 240-volt outlet or a hardwired Level 2 charger. Any Level 2 charger brand qualifies.
  • It is for MTE members only. If NES serves your address, this program does not apply.
  • MTE's page has a separate application for builders and developers.

How to Apply

  1. Have a licensed electrician install the wiring.
  2. Fill out MTE's short online EV Ready application.
  3. Attach a receipt for the completed work.
  4. Look for the credit on a later MTE bill. Check MTE's page for any timing rules before you apply.

NES Home Charger Rebate

None listedAs of October 2026

NES does not list a home charger rebate that we could confirm. Ask NES before you buy.

  • The NES electric vehicle page points to general EV information and to TVA tools, not to an NES cash rebate.
  • If NES adds a program, it will appear on its EV page, linked below.

TVA EnergyRight

TVA EnergyRight offers a marketplace for comparing EV chargers. It is not a charger rebate.

  • The marketplace lets you compare chargers by brand and price. Any deals there come from the sellers, not from a TVA charger rebate.

Federal Section 30C Credit

Ended June 30, 2026As of October 2026

The federal Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit covered home charging equipment placed in service from January 1, 2023, through June 30, 2026. It has ended.

  • Equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026, did not qualify. Some older web pages still list this credit as if it were open.
  • If your charger went in before the end date, ask a tax professional about your return.

Which Utility Serves Your Brentwood Address?

Brentwood is served by two utilities: Nashville Electric Service (NES) and Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE). Both buy power from TVA. Check your power bill to see which one serves your address, because the incentives differ.

Nearby areas vary too. Forest Hills and Oak Hill are NES territory. Franklin is in MTE's service area. Spring Hill has three possible providers, and Nolensville homeowners should check their bill.

How Should Incentives Fit Into Your Plan?

Treat any credit as a small bonus, not a reason to pick one charger or another. The bigger costs come from the wire run and the panel. The installation cost factors guide explains those.

Keep your paid invoice and permit record. Utility programs often ask for a receipt. If you are still deciding whether your home can handle an EV, an EV readiness inspection answers that before you spend money on a Level 2 home charger.

Programs change. Each status below carries an "as of" date and a link to the official page. Check that page before you count on any credit.
